VIDEO: Two U.S. Navy EA-18G Growlers collide during Gunfighter Skies Air Show

Two U.S. Navy EA-18G Growlers collided on May 17, 2026, during the Gunfighter Skies Air Show at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho while performing a close formation demonstration.

The EA-18G Growler is a carrier based electronic warfare aircraft and a variant of the F/A-18F Super Hornet designed for radar jamming and electronic attack missions. According to the 366th Fighter Wing public affairs office and air show organizers Silver Wings of Idaho, all four crew members safely ejected and survived. Officials said the crash occurred away from the main spectator area, preventing civilian injuries.

Emergency response teams secured the scene immediately after the collision, and military authorities alongside federal aviation officials have launched a formal investigation. No cause has been determined.
